Would you like to try a martial art that is both highly effective yet non-aggressive and non-competitive? Are you interested in a martial art that works, whether you're big or small, young or old, strong or weak?

Unlike many other martial arts, the aikido student learns to neutralize an attack rather than confront the attacker's movements with aggression. The Aikidoist learns how to take an aggressive line of attack and render it harmless through dynamic techniques and immobilizations.

The founder, known as O-Sensei, trained extensively in judo, kendo, and jujitsu. After becoming dissatisfied with martial arts that were based on violence or victory over others, O-sensei created Aikido. It has since grown to become one of the most popular martial arts in the world.
The Victoria Aikido Centre was founded in 1975 and is a registered not-for-profit society. We are fortunate to have some of the most experienced instructors Canada.

Next 7-week Beginner's Course starts Monday, February 20th. Only $70 per working adult.
